Week7 Post
The most important thing that I learned in this class is to be "flexible." What I mean by this is that I have learned that I cannot always think my ideas are the only good ones when working with a group of people. I have realized that everyone can have good ideas and that sometimes their ideas are going to be better than mine, and that is okay. In order to make the best out of situations that involve a group of people, everyone's ideas need to shared and valued.
Another thing that I learned in this class about the Social Change Model is the importance of citizenship. I never really thought before about how my decisions and my leadership can affect the people around me, rather than just the people in my group and myself. This value really made a lot of sense to me when I thought about it in terms of our football team. We are just a bunch of kids that are playing the game we love, but the results of our games make a dramatic impact on the fans of our team across the whole country. As a result of this, we have a huge opportunity to make a lot of people happy, and I look forward to that challenge!
