EAD 315 Introduction

Hello, everyone!

My name is Joshua Vaughn. I am a Senior majoring in Accounting and graduated this Spring.

I was born in Gainesville, Florida but have been living in DeWitt, Michigan for the past thirteen years. I have bounced around between a few states as a result of my father's time in the Navy and his profession.  Most recently I found myself in Grand Rapids, Michigan for my second internship with the accounting firm BDO.  I am looking forward to being back home for the summer and having some time to relax away from work.

The majority of my time this summer, after classwork of course, will be spent on the golf course and on the baseball diamond.  I had the chance to go to Nashville earlier this summer and spent a few days in Las Vegas before classes began.  I am planning on making a few trips to the lake throughout the summer as well!

Working in public accounting will require me to lead teams and inspire positive changes in our office's business practices.  I am hoping that this course will help me to develop the skills necessary to do that!

The item that best represents me as a leader is the calendar on the desk beside my bed.  Whether I am working or taking classes, I have always felt inspired to help my community.  My calendar is full of dates and notes about the student groups I am involved in and other volunteering activities I make an effort to join in on.  One of my favorite activities has been serving as a mentor to other students and children in my community.
