I think of change as being easy, but it isn’t always there
is always risk. The bucket brigade reminds me of that risk this line of men are
trying to save this building that is on fire, but the man in front has to worry
about the smoke, and flames. I think of him as an effective leader a person who
isn’t afraid to get dirty, and who is the most responsible for the outcome
being successful. The men in line are also taking risks, and creating change
can be exhausting. Positive change means making the world better, and if things
were that simple everyone would get on board, but usually issues are complex,
and so it takes time to get people over their fear of “getting burned” and to
enact change once people join a movement.
My second image is of some bumper stickers that always make me smile. The express an idea of peace. The ideas that compromise, and
compassion can allow for a peaceful world. There are many groups of people in the world
who struggle with the ideas of other groups. There are many people in the world
who feel hatred toward other humans. It is difficult to think of a truly good
free world with such conflict. I think that for society to really to have peace
we will need to learn to tolerate those who differ from us Coexistence must be
taught and encouraged so that wars can end, and the hungry can be fed.
