Kelsey Schweibert: Week 5, Visual Aid

This is obviously a little more obvious of a selection for this week’s visual aid, but I really liked how the hands were not overlapping in this picture, and they were all equally included in the circle. That is what a large part of creating a social change is all about, working together for a collaborative purpose of the common good of the group and the overall desired outcome of the movement. Everyone should feel like they are being able to contribute equally and at the end that it was the groups effort that made it successful, not just one individual.

This is one of my all-time favorite quotes “Be curious, not judgmental.” Controversy is different from conflict; controversy is healthy in a group. It allows people to be open to hearing other’s ideas that may not necessarily match up with our own, and working to come together for the common good of the groups project. To listen and not judge is an important part of group cohesion.
