Week 6- Charles Ellis IV

Current Event Connection: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/big-u-s--companies-you-might-not-know-are-religious-175228053.html

Congruence requires that one has identified personal values, belifs, attitudes, and emotions and acts consistently with those values, beliefs, attitudes, and emotions. You have to walk the talk. Congruence is very important to the Social Change Model because it is difficult to respect a hypocrite. This article is talking about Forever 21 and other stores that express their religion. On the bottom of Forever 21 bags, John 3:16 is there. I like how these companies are standing for their beliefs. Especially when it is difficult for people to stand for their beliefs without being accused of being radical or judging. Chick-fil-A had a controversy when they said they supported the family, but the biblical version. That was their opinion and belief, but it sparked controversy. It is nice to see them staying true to their beliefs even when society does not agree. I thought this article was really interesting because I have been to most of these places and have never know this information.
