Kelsey Schweibert: Week 7

Before this class I thought that the only way I could make a difference was to rely solely on myself, I struggled with the idea of relinquishing control to others in order to have the desired outcome. But, through this course, I was able to understand that in order to be successful as a leader and to make the biggest impact, I must be willing to embrace what others bring to the table and relinquish control so that I can have the best results possible. Collaboration and learning to delegate is really a crucial part in the Social Change Model. Letting go of responsibilities and be willing to trust in the path that has been set is important (thus the above picture).

I have always found myself to have a good idea of the person I am and how I want to represent myself. However through Conscious of Self, I really was able to look and evaluate my life and checked to see where I needed improvements on actually living up to my talk. It was a good wake up call, and one that I can carry throughout my life on a daily basis as well as in leadership roles. The change starts with yourself, in order to carry it out, you must commit and be the change.
