Week 6 Visuals: Curtis Kocher

This is the first visual I found this week that represents Consciousness of Self. In my opinion, out of all different aspects of Consciousness of Self, feedback is one of the most important. Feedback gives people an external point of view on their strengths and weaknesses and this gives them the opportunity to adjust their behavior in order to become better leaders. Without feedback, people will not understand their true identity and it could cause people to become more introverted leaders, a style that is looked down upon. I feel this is a photo of a woman giving feedback to another woman, showing her what she can improve on to become a better leader.

The second visual I found this week that represents commitment was of a baseball player practicing in a batting cage. As defined in the Social Chang Model, commitment requires a significant involvement and investment of ones self in the activity and its intended consequences. To me, commitment means never giving up on something no matter how hard it gets. Professional athletes all have one thing in common, their want to win. In order for this to happen, they know that they must put in grueling hours of practice in order to achieve their desired result. This in my opinion shows commitment because no matter how good the athlete truly is, they practice day in and day out in order to get even better.
