Liz Stuart Week 7

My first picture I chose was of a pack of wolves. Wolves follow a very specific structure with one leader that takes the position by power and force. This is very similar to coercive power leaders. Just as a leader has authority over a group, one wolf, the alpha, has power and authority over the others. That allows him to become the head of the pack and the leader of the group.

I chose a picture of a group clapping for my second picture because being a leader means having the respect of your audience. I think that referent power is extremely important in one's leadership efficacy. Here in this picture it's clear that the group respects what the leader has to say and his or her opinions and ideas. Having the trust and respect is essential to becoming a successful leader.
