My article I chose for my current event has to do with the offical plans to build a new hockey arena for Downtown Detroit. I think this really correlates to a lot of the 7 C's we've been discussing over the past few weeks. First, this shows how strong and imperative collaboration is in a group project like this. While it's important to have one main leader, everyone must be on board to actually make a difference. In the article, it's discussed that the stadium is helping the threshold of bringing people to Detroit. These efforts combined with the other partners and businesses in the areas are allowing Detroit to once again thrive. Another C that's depicted in this situation is congruence. The many leaders for Detroit have chosen to make the revitalization of the city a main committment in their life. However, they don't just say the are committed, they actually act upon it. This is a prime example of how committed they actually are. His actions for believing in the city enough to build a new stadium shows that he truly does care for the city and is executing on his ideas. I think this article really encompasses the positive effects a true leader can have, even on a place like Detroit.
